Loma Davis displays surprise and pleasure after receiving Castleview auxiliary’s life membership honors.
In 1973, 14 people conducted a meeting in Price in an attempt to organize a group of volunteers to assist the hospital and help with patients. Davis was a member of the group of organizers.
Davis has been an integral part of the local volunteer program since Oct. 5, 1973. She has contributed 11,610 hours and more than 30 years of service to the volunteer auxiliary.
Davis has occupied the office of president eight times, served on all auxiliary committees and represented the hospital on the state board for two years.
When Davis was working at the hospital, she was frequently interrupted by visitors and former patients who wanted to say hello, pointed out the auxiliary. She would respond with a giggle and a smile that lit up her face and made her eyes sparkle. She was a friend to everyone, young or old, sick or well.
Davis knew the auxiliary’s policy and procedure manual by heart and followed the guidelines faithfully.
Davis has left an indelible mark on the history of service to the hospital, concluded the auxiliary.
