Traffic was tied up on 100 North in Price due to an accident last Thursday that sent two injured victims to the hospital.
The June 12 mishap forced some drivers onto Main Street while other motorists remained at a temporary standstill behind the debris.
According to the Price City Police Department, the investigation into the accident indicated that 39-year-old Moab resident Debbie Sanchez was reportedly driving westbound on 100 North and failed to yield at a red light at 300 East. Sanchez car then collided with a northbound vehicle in the intersection driven by 18-year-old Heather Davis of Price.
The impact of the collision spun Sanchez’ Honda Accord completely around, indicated the local law enforcement agency. Davis’ Dodge Neon went into the southbound lane on 300 East after traveling approximately 80 feet from the intersection after the collision occurred.
Sanchez was issued a citation for failing to yield at a signal light in connection with the mishap, confirmed the Price police department. Both drivers were wearing safety restraints and the airbags in the two vehicles deployed at the time of the collision. But both drivers were transported to Castleview Hospital for medical treatment.
