Ruth Fausett
PRICE – Ruth Elaine Fausett “Aunt Ruth”, died Nov. 2, 2003 in Price.
She was born Nov. 22, 1930 to Charles Albert and Kisten Matilda Jensen Fausett.
Ruth worked for Walgreens for years and stayed on when it became Dan’s Pharmacy. She retired as a checker at Kmart.
Because she never had any children of her own, she was a very special aunt to all her nieces and nephews.
She is survived by brothers and sisters, George and Helen White, Faye Vuksinick, Charles Ray Fausett and Wayne Viola Smith. She was preceded in death by sisters, Jennie Messenger, Pearl Cook, Ila Mae Spink, Eloise Sacco; and brother, Jess Fausett. Also preceded in death by nieces and nephews, Susan Fausett Coli, Justin Keith Wells, Jessie and Debbie White, Melanie Vuksinick Hamann, John Spink and Terry Spink.
Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 7, 11 a.m., at Fausett Mortuary in Price, where friends may call Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services. Burial, Price City Cemetery.
Carol Thayn
PRICE – Carol Elaine Lott Thayn, beloved wife, mother, sister and friend, left this world to enter another Oct. 30, 2003.
She was born Aug. 3, 1934, the daughter of Bamey Adams Lott and Florence Gordon. She met LeRoy Gene Thayn and they were married in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple Dec. 8, 1954.
They had seven children, Debra (Bruce) Hammer, Shanna (Garry) Griffiths, Ronda (Gary) Keilbart, Tawna (Ron) Stapley, Cary (Connie) Thayn, Pamela (Ryan) Torgerson and Jarin (Sarah) Thayn.
She had a love and gift for music that will carry on for many generations and her love for the gospel of Jesus Christ was apparent in all she did.
Carol is survived by husband, Roy; all seven children; 38 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; her two sisters and brother. She was preceded in death by parents and one grandson.
Services will be Wednesday, Nov. 5, at noon at the Wellington LDS Stake Center, 925 East Main. Viewing will take place prior to the services from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Judy Pearson
WELLINGTON – Judy Lynn Houskeeper Pearson, age 33, passed away at her parents’ home after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born May 24, 1970 in Price to Chester and Vivian Price Houskeeper. Married Charles B. “Toby” Pearson May 7, 1990 in Price.
Judy’s greatest love was for her children and spending time with her husband and family. She loved the outdoors and camping in Nine Mile. She will be dearly missed by her family and a community of friends.
Survived by husband, Toby Pearson; son, Garret Pearson; daughter, Paige Pearson; parents, Chester and Vivian Hous-keeper, all of Wellington; sisters, Penny (Maynerd) Popejoy, Helper; Patty (Mark) Olsen, Wellington; Jeannie Houskeeper and Bobby Llewelyn, Price; brothers, Chet Houskeeper, Bret Houskeeper, both of Wellington; grandparents, Allen Price, Price; Marie Houskeeper, Wellington; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles “Toby” and Barbara Pearson, Monticello. Preceded in death by grandparents, Oma Price and John Houskeeper.
Funeral service Tuesday, Nov. 4, 11 a.m., Wellington 1st LDS Ward Chapel. Interment, Wellington City Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home.
Lloyd Sutton
PRICE – Lloyd Deyo “Jack” Sutton, age 97, long time resident of Price, passed away in Grand Junction, Colo., on Oct. 31, 2003.
He was born May 29, 1906 in Onarga, Ill., to John Quincy Adams and Emma Hammon Sutton. He married Avis Eldora Van Wagenen in August 1932. She preceded him in death on Dec. 6, 1951.
Lloyd was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in many capacities,
He was a member of the United Mine Workers and was the original owner/operator of the Deadman Canyon mine. He lived for many years in Price then moved to Grand Junction, Colo., and continued mining until his retirement.
Lloyd is survived by three daughters, Emma Lou (Ron) Goff, Goodyear, Ariz.; Nancy Lee McCurdy, Grand Junction, Colo.; and Patsy May (John) Perez, Kingsville, Texas. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
There will be a viewing Tuesday, Nov. 4, at Fausett Mortuary in Price from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Graveside services will be in the Price Cemetery at 2 p.m., with interment to follow.
Anona Oliver
PRICE – Having completed her earthly mission, Anona Ann Brasher Oliver, the lady who loved to make quilts, age 92, passed away Nov. 2, 2003 in Price while surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Dec. 18, 1910 in Huntington to Francis Marion and Ida May Rowley Brasher. Married Cleland W. Oliver Jan. 20, 1932 in Price. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Cleland died June 16, 1986.
Anona was an active member of the LDS Church, where she served in the Relief Society, Primary presidency and Young Women’s Organization. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
Anona was an avid quilter who make many quilts for her family and friends. Each year, she enjoyed making quilts for Primary Children’s Hospital and the Festival of Trees.
Anona’s legacy was her generous and kind heart and her quilting. She loved cooking, baking bread and she was always concerned with helping others. Anona loved growing beautiful roses, raspberries and working alongside her husband on the farm.
She will be dearly missed by her family and many longtime friends.
Survived by daughter, Bonnie (Parley) Johnson, Price; sons, Lynn (Juanita) Oliver, Cedar-edge, Colo.; Devon (Pearl) Oliver, Price; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents; infant daughter, Margaret May; grandson, Michael Johnson; three brothers, Marion, Merril and Chester Brasher; and sister, Elda Burnside.
Funeral service Thursday, Nov. 6, 11 a.m, Gordon Creek LDS Ward Chapel, 179 North 1280 West. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home, 233 East Main Street, Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church Thursday one hour prior to service. Interment, Huntington City Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
Edna Young
HUNTINGTON – Edna Marie Davis Young, age 75, passed away in Price Nov. 2, 2003 after a stroke.
She was born Jan. 9, 1928 in Cleveland, to William and Maude M. Stokes Davis. She married Jerrold Dean Young July 1, 1949 in Cleveland, later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.
Her competitive spirit helped her to excel at everything she did, whether playing cards or sports.
She loved sewing and her award winning quilts will always be treasured by those for whom they were lovingly made. Her love of knowledge made her a consummate reader and she loved to dance.
She was an active member of the LDS Church and she enjoyed her membership in the J&J Club.
Edna worked as a secretary for Emery County School District for 35 years.
She is survived by her husband, Dean, Huntington; children, Robyn and Clyde Rasmussen, Port Angeles, Wash.; Leigh and Lewis Stilson, Orangeville; Lanice and Art Rasmussen , Price; and Damon Young of Tooele; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also survived by brothers and sisters, Ileene and Glinn Gilbert, William Farrell and Bonnie Davis, Shey and Laurie Davis, Rodney and Susan Davis, Helane and Don Lott, Reed Davis and JaNeen and Melvin Hales.
Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 7, 11 a.m. at the Huntington 1st/5th LDS Ward building, located at 115 South 400 East. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial, Huntington Cemetery.
