Our friend, father, grandfather, and husband Stanley Jensen returned home to the arms of his heavenly father on January 10, 2018 after a long fight with cancer.
Stanley Jensen was born to Lyman C. Jensen and Lucille Staker Jensen on July 7, 1935, in Lawrence, Utah. He was raised by Wallace and Lucille Jensen. He spent his youth in Emery County and East Carbon, Utah. After high school he joined the Marines, where he spent three years in active duty and the next 8 years in the reserves. Stan had various jobs throughout his life working in the mining industry.
Stan was lucky enough to find two women who loved him dearly. He married Earlene Leturgez and had four children. Stanley Paul, Charlene (Kim) Harrison, Gary (Anita) Jensen, Lori (Sheldon) Jensen. 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He then married June Strohmeier Jensen and was blessed with a child, Ashley Jensen and 7 stepchildren: Cassandra Jensen, Elizabeth (Nate) Houchen, Katherine (Nate) Scholes, Nancy (Shaun) Williams, William Jensen, Crystal Jensen, and Rusty (Alena) McFarland, and 26-step grandchildren.
Stan loved to ride horses and spent most of his youth and adulthood on top of a horse up Huntington Canyon. He also spent many days camping and spending time with his family. He also loved to travel and see new places. Stan loved meeting new people and always made friends wherever he went.
Stan was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He had a strong testimony and served various positions in the church.
Stan is survived by his wife, June Jensen , all but one of his children, all his step children, grandchildren, and great-grand-children, brother Lyman Jensen, sisters Glenda Jensen, Jean McLellan, Janice (John) Gute, sister-in-law Valene Jensen and Barbara Moon.
He was preceded in death by his Fathers, Lyman and Wallace Jensen, Mother Lucille Jensen, First Wife Earlene Jensen, Son Stanley Paul, Brothers, Larry Jensen, Allen Jensen, Sister Barbara Naylor, brother-in-law John Naylor, sister-in-law Marianne Jensen and step grandchildren Zackery Mitchell and Zade Williams.
Viewing will be held at Santaquin 6th ward chapel (545 North 200 East) on January 16, 2018 from 9 am. To 11 a.m. followed by graveside services (11:30) at Santaquin Cemetery.
