Snow College steals two from USUE

Utah State University Eastern Men’s Soccer suffered the same fate as the women, losing a pair of tight games to Snow College, Friday and Saturday in Price.
Chanson Vawdrey put the Badgers up 1-0 after the Eagles defense failed to clear a free kick. It was 2-0, three minutes later as Mitchell Pyle headed in a corner. The Eagles unable to create much in a foul laden first half.
The game’s momentum changed early in the second half. Frank DeBry was tripped in the penalty area and dispatched the resulting kick, to cut the deficit to 2-1. It was his tenth goal of the season. DeBry came close a minute later as he headed a corner just over the bar. The Eagles were unable to sustain the momentum in an even second half. Both teams registered 5 shots on target. There were 32 fouls in the bad tempered match, but no cautions. The  game finished USUE 1 Snow College 2.
In Saturday’s fixture the Eagles struggled to create many chances. The match was decided on a free kick, Harei Moeada putting in the rebound for the only goal of the game in the first half.
In the second half the Eagles managed only 1 shot on target. The referee cautioned two Eagles players and midfielder Pacifique Missi was sent off. The game ended USUE 0 Snow College 1.
The Eagles are 5-5 overall, 1-5 in the conference.
They play Colorado Northwest Community College in Craig next Friday and Saturday. Their next home game is also against CNCC, Thursday October 18.
