HUNTINGTON- Our husband, dad, grandpa and questionable driver, Cato Orville Wagner, Jr. started his great road trip in the sky August 7, 2018.
He was born on June 21, 1954 in Price, UT to parents Cato Sr. and Nina Vale Snyder.
Cato graduated Emery High and then attended CEU where he met Janice Rogers, the friend of a fellow student who then decided she also needed to further her education. They were married in Monticello, UT on August, 3 1974.
Cato worked at Deer Creek Mine for 10 years. After a brief stint at Geneva Steel, he decided he didn’t want to move his family to the city, and went back to school. He graduated from USU with a BS in Elementary Education. He put this to use as a Service and Sales Rep for EIMCO, training operators.
Cato loved mechanical things: working on cars, engines, guns and tinkering on all sorts of little projects. He educated himself on many things and it was impossible to have too many books. If you stopped by for a visit, you weren’t leaving until you watched at least a few very important silly YouTube videos. Many people probably thought Cato only owned 1 shirt. He actually had several of those blue shirts, but it is possible that he had most of them since 1972.
Cato is survived by his wife, Janice; children Cato III (Jen), Joshua (Brandy) and Nikki; grandchildren Maya, Bailey, Chloe, Cato IV, Connor and Mason; and siblings Dan (Marilyn) Wagner, Rose Ward, Nina Joyce Wolfe, Jacquie (Kim) Jacobs and Rebecca Wagner.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Luticia Swapp; and brothers-in-law Ray Swapp, Dennis Ward, and Steven Wolfe.
Memorial service will be Monday August 13, 2018, 11:00 a.m., Huntington LDS Stake center where the family will receive friends Monday morning beginning at 9:30 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
