After an almost month-long endeavor, the “EC” above East Carbon was resurrected on June 23.
Each letter measures 120’x36’x8’. A very steep climb was required to reach the site and all materials were manually carried up.
It was originally painted 50 years ago by the ECHS Class of ‘68, and most recently painted seven years ago by EC City.
A challenge was issued in May by a somewhat deranged 70-year old former ECHS Viking, Class of ‘66, to repaint it by the annual Community Daze celebration.
Dozens of donations of money, tools, materials, drinks, snacks, and labor allowed us to complete our project well before our deadline.
On the final day, over 50 people from ages 70 to 7, and from all over Utah and one from Wyoming made the grueling climb to help get it done.
Thanks to each and every one of you who contributed. Without you, we couldn’t have done it.
