RICHFIELD, UT —Price City will receive more than $3 million in funding for two new baseball fields. In the June 14 meeting held in Richfield, UT, the Community Impact Board voted to fund the project with a grant of $1,562,000 million and a low-interest loan of $1,563,000.
The project consists of demolishing the existing baseball fields and constructing two new large baseball fields including sod, eight-foot chain link fencing, gates, warning track, dugouts, irrigation system, drinking fountain, scoreboards, wind screens, restroom and concession building, asphalt parking lot, utilities, netting, batting and bullpen cages, sidewalks, curb and gutter, removable bleachers and signage.
“I appreciate the Community Impact Board not only supporting essential infrastructure related to roads and water, but also supporting the high quality of life that we value in rural Utah.” said San Juan County Commissioner Bruce Adams.
The Community Impact Board awards grants and low-interest loans to cities, towns and counties impacted by mining and the extraction of oil and gas on federal land. Projects funded by the Community Impact Board benefit rural Utah by creating safer, more livable communities.
