Jean Roberts

    HELPER-Our loving wife, mother, grandmother and dear friend, Geessien Alberts Roberts, 87, passed away June 12, 2018 in Price.
    She was born June 15, 1930 in Groningen, Netherlands to Jan and Trientje Hoogakker Alberts.
    On June 14, 1952, she married the love of her life Ray Olsen Roberts in Ogden, Utah; their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on April 3, 1956.
    She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many callings.  Jean was a sweet spirit who stayed true to her testimony till the very end.  She was very creative and took great pride in designing flowers. She was the original owner and operator of Roberts Floral and her greatest joy was working alongside her family at the floral shop.  She loved music, poetry and even had a book published with her writings.   Jean was blessed with many friends and it was always a joy to visit with her.  She brought great joy to those around her and it was a delight to reminisce with her.  Jean and Ray loved to travel throughout the United States.
    She is survived by her husband, Ray O. Roberts, Helper; son, Jan LeRoy (Audrey) Roberts, Hurricane; daughter, Patty Linn (Matthew) Hevelone, Price; 8 loving grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, many loving nieces, nephews and a community of friends.
    Preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Marla T. Roberts Wheeler; and her brothers, Peter and Albert Alberts.
    Funeral service, Saturday, June 16, 2018, 1:00 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price.  Family will receive friends at Mitchell’s Friday evening from 6:00-7:00 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to services.  Interment will be in the Mt. View Cemetery in Helper.  Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Jean online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
