Last Tuesday night the Carbon Dino wrestling team traveled to Castle Dale to face the host Emery High team in a dual wrestling meet.  At the conclusion of the match the Dinos left town with a 42-36 victory.
Every match that was wrestled was won by way of a pin with Emery wrestlers winning six matches this way and the Dinos winning four matches this way.  The difference in the match was three forfeited matches given by the host team that allowed the Dinos to score another eighteen points.
The night started with the 285 pound division and Emery’s AC Reeve defeated Zack Skaggs by way of pin with 58.5 seconds left in the second round.  Emery’s Dwain Farley then defeated Rylan Ferguson with another second round pin in the 106 pound division.  Korby Christiansen of Emery then gave the Spartans their third win of the night as he pinned Astacia Gomez in the first round in the 113 pound weight division.  Emery won their fourth straight match in the 120 pound weight as Dax Hall pinned third round.
Carbon got their first victory of the night as Kayden Gibson pinned Chase Christiansen in the 126 pound weight class.  Dino Casey Shiner then
pinned Gage Magnum in the 132 pound class followed by Bobby Blake of Carbon pinning Aiden Mortenson in the 138 pound class in the second round.  Conner Fausett of Carbon then pinned Zac World in the second
round in the 145 pound class to give the Dinos their fourth straight win and left the two teams tied in score.
Emery then regained the lead as Gus Dalton pinned Keityn Hunt of Carbon with 9.3 seconds remaining in the first round in the 152 pound class.  Dino Nathan Cowley won the 160 pound weight class by way of forfeit to re-tie the score.  In the final contested match of the night, Emery’s
Newt Oveson pinned Jacob Barlow in the 170 pound class half way through the first round to give Emery the lead at 36-30.
Carbon wrestlers Tritton Abeyta in the 182 pound weight class and Ryan Madrigal in the 195 pound weight class both won because Emery did not field a wrestler in these weight classes.  Neither team had a competitor in the 220 pound class.
