The Price Elks Lodge on Saturday shared the money raised through the Sub for Santa golf tournament, horseshoe tournament and member donations with four organizations to help provide Christmas comfort and joy for the less fortunate throughout the community.
In addition to the contributions, Exalted Ruler Mary Alice Johnson said the Elks Lodge will provide Christmas gifts and meals for five local families that will include, “everything that they could possibly need for their Christmas.”
The Elk’s contributions were made to four organizations. The Matt Warner Chapter of E. Clampus Vitus and the Price Fire Department each received $500, while the Family Support and Childrens Justice Center and the City of East Carbon were each allotted $250.
Johnson said, “Our priority as Elks is charity and brotherly love.
Because our group is small, we’re trying to do more. We wanted everyone to know how much we appreciate and want to share with the community.”
