David Edward Gumbrecht

David Edward Gumbrecht, known affectionately as Ted, died November 29, 2017. Ted was born October 30, 1928 to Edward Walter and Elizabeth Elmer Gumbrecht in Standardville, Utah.
He was preceded in death by his older brother, Orlan Walter Gumbrecht of Layton. He is survived by sister Maxine Gumbrecht Sessions of Bountiful, nieces, nephews, many friends, associates, and clientele throughout his long career as a licensed pharmacist in California, Idaho, and Utah. Ted graduated from Weber High in 1946, earned his Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Utah in 1957, and enlisted in the U.S. Army, 523rd Signal Corps, as a corporal from 1952-1954 during the Korean War, receiving the National Service Medal.
Ted was an avid pilot, sports car enthusiast, golfer, and enjoyed the comradery of friends and family.
He will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 2, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd, Ogden, Utah.
