The annual Handel’s “Messiah” program is scheduled for Sunday, December 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the Carbon High School auditorium and will once again feature voices as well as an orchestra.
Musicians from the community and students from USU-Eastern will join their talents to sing in the choir and play in the symphony. Many of the “Messiah’s” favorites will be performed as well as several solos to round out the evenings performance.
The evening event is under the direction of Larry Martin, lecturer/choral director at USU-Eastern, and he brings with him his own interpretation of the music and lyrics.
“Practices are intense as Martin calls for proper diction and voice control,” said one young chorale participant, performing in his first of what he hopes will be many “Messiah” concertd.
“This performance has been a community tradition for a number of years and sets the mood for the Christmas season,” said Martin.
    The performance is free.
