The new sign welcomes visitors that was made and design by Alex Thayn a senior at Carbon High School for his Eagle Scout project.
On Tuesday afternoon a ribbon cutting was held by the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce to bring to light the hard work Thayn has done to make this sign possible.
Besides the help of his family he also wanted to thank the community but especially the local businesses that provided him with materials, and equipment to finish the sign. He particularly wanted to thank, A1 Rental for donating the post hole digger, Howa’s & Sons for all the landscaping rock, the weed barrier provided by Ward’s Landscaping and Intermountain Electronic for the metal and the time to cut out the sign.
Alex is the son of Bill and Toni Thayn and the grandson of Richard and Linda Thayn and Flavio Herrera and the late Sarah Herrera.
