SPRING GLEN-Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, co-worker and dear neighbor, Clyde West Petersen passed away September 14, 2017 in Price just a month shy of his 96th birthday.
He was born October 28, 1921 in Willow Creek, Utah to Charles Franklyn and Rose West Petersen. Married Maxine Allred Judd, June 20, 1960 in Las Vegas, NV; she died October 3, 1989. On April 5, 1990, he married Dorothy Hinkins Haycock in Elko, Nevada.
Clyde was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a lifelong resident of Carbon County who faithfully served his country in the US Air Force during World War II. He was a devoted and proud member of the United Mine Workers of America Castle Gate Local where he retired as a machinist. Clyde loved to tinker and loved nothing more than buying something new and trying to make it better. He loved to oil paint and share his paintings with family and friends. Clyde and Dorothy loved to travel with the Good Sam’s Club.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Petersen, Spring Glen; daughter, Hope (Norman) Day, American Fork, UT; grandchildren, Michelle (Marc) Wright, South Jordan, Brande (Michael) Bianco, Indio, CA, Lindsay (Harlan) Bunker, Lehi; step-children, Tom and Robert Judd; and many other loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Franklin; sister, Vera; step-sons, Johnny Haycock, Jr, James Judd and Sheridan Judd; and a granddaughter, Jenifer Lynn Day.
Graveside services will be held, Monday, September 18, 2017, 12:00 noon at the Mt. View Cemetery in Helper, Utah. Family will receive friends at Mitchell Funeral Home Monday morning from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome to share memories of Clyde online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
