The swinging dinos girls tennis team faced off against Providence Hall in their first region matches on Sept. 5. The majority of varsity players came away with victories in their singles matches.
Jewelianna Nielsen’s heated match lasted almost 4 hours. She came away with a victory after 3 sets. Her scores were: 6-7, 6-2, 7-5. Mersedez Clifford won after two sets: 6-0 and 6-1.
Alheli Pendelton also garnered a win with a score of 6-1 for both sets.

Manti

CHS played Manti in exhibition matches last week. Coming out victorious, Jewelianna Nielsen beat Manti, 6-3, 6-2. “It was her second match of the day, because they played three sets against North Sanpete earlier,” explained coach Crystal Bettis. “It was a great experience for all of the girls and they keep getting better,” she explained.
“This year, our focus is on growth. It’s not about just winning the match- because so many of our girls are new to the sport, I ask them how they feel about their matches. Many of them feel like they are really improving, and I can see the growth.” said Bettis.
The girls tennis team will be playing at Juab on Sept. 12 and hosting Wasatch Academy here in Price on Sept. 13.
