Bill Austin

Carbonville- Billy J. Austin left this world on September 9th, 2017 surrounded by family from this side and the other side.
He was born May 31st 1927 in Richards, Missouri to Silas and Jessie Edna Lawrence Austin.
He married Kathleen Olsen on September 8th 1950 and they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Manti temple on June 20th 1970. They were inseparable for 67 years.
They had two sons Alan Lawrence Austin and Russell Dean Austin.
Bill worked as a heavy equipment operator and foreman doing road construction and dirt work. Most of his career was spent working for W.W. Clyde Construction and he was a member of operating Engineers local 3 for over 50 years.
After retirement he and Katy served LDS missions at Adam-Ondi-Ahman and at the Manti, Utah temple.
Bill enjoyed reading, camping, fishing, hunting, waterskiing, coin collecting, competition rifle shooting, black powder shooting and was a member of the book cliff muzzleloader club. He also enjoyed snow skiing and was a rock hound earlier in his life.
However, the thing that gave him the most joy was spending time with, and being surrounded by, his family. He always put his family first and would do or sacrifice anything for them. He remained a dedicated family man to the end.
He is survived by his eternal companion Kathleen Austin and their children Alan (Debbie) and Russell (Kim); grandchildren, Billy (Tori), Scott (Hailey), Mike (Anna), Kelly, Tyler, Brittnee (Andrew), Ashlynn (Brenden), and Kyle.
