Tension echoed through the field as Grace Broadbear approached the ball in sudden death overtime. Her attempt was successful, and the team collectively exhaled. Carbon girls soccer came home jubilant after an excruciatingly close game against American Leadership Academy on Aug. 31. Lady dinos garnered a 1-0 win.
The game started off slow, but the dinos started playing well in the second half. They were connecting with their passes and moving the ball fluidly. The defense had their best game so far this season. “They worked really well as a defensive unit,” explained Cynthia Lancaster, head coach.
Shutting out ALA, goalkeeper Kelsey Sorenson made 15 saves blocking every attempt by their opponents. “She played amazing in she goal,” added Lancaster.
