PRICE-Our loving Mother and Grandmother, Myrna Barker Hanna passed away peacefully at her home August 22, 2017 with her family at her side. She follows in death by twelve days, her beloved husband Donald Blake Hanna, who tenderly cared for her.
Myrna was born May 12, 1939 in Moab, Utah to Marvin S. Barker and Edith Caroline Ellis. She was the third child born of six children of two boys and four girls. Her brothers and sisters are: Bud (Patty) Barker of Phoenix, Arizona; LaRue Stewart of Price, Utah; Sheldon (Alice) Barker of Wellington, Utah; Lorraine (Robert) Gentry of Price, Utah; and Janice Kulow of Price, Utah.
Myrna grew up on the family farm in Miller Creek and graduated from Carbon High School in 1957. She married the love of her life Donald Blake Hanna on November 14, 1959. They later had their marriage solemnized in the Manti, Utah Temple on October 16, 1999. Later they served as Temple Workers at the Manti, Utah Temple for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Together, Myrna and Blake raised their five children: Dan, Kim, Joe, Becky and Trent. While raising their children she achieved her State License for Cosmetology in the State of Utah. Later she enjoyed her career working for Price Municipal City for many years and retired. Myrna was always busy with her many talents, crocheting, sewing, painting, and making many beautiful dolls that everyone loved. She also loved working in her yard and decorating her home. Her greatest joy and love was her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Myrna is survived by her five children: Daniel Blake Hanna (Cathy) of Rexburg, Idaho; Kim Mele (Greg) of Price, Utah; Joe Hanna (Michelle) of Sandy, Utah; Becky Timothy (Collin) of East Carbon, Utah and Trent Hanna (Brandy) of Price, Utah. Also twenty-two grandchildren, and forty-five great grandchildren.
Myrna is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Blake Hanna; her parents, Marvin and Edith Barker; granddaughter, Amanda Mele; brother-in-laws, John Stewart, and Larry Kulow.
Funeral service, Saturday, August 26, 2017, 11:00 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment will follow in the Price City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome daily and may share memories of Myrna online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
