Academy Mill Reservoir
Good
Anglers are catching trout using spinners, woolly buggers and traditional baits. The reservoir was stocked with 3,000 tiger trout on June 28. (08-17-17)
Benches Pond
Good
The pond was stocked with 500 rainbow trout on July 12. To catch them, try using spinners, worms or PowerBait. You might also catch fish using fly patterns, such as leeches, bead heads and soft hackle flies. (08-17-17)
Boulger Reservoir
Good
The reservoir was stocked on July 12 with 400 rainbow trout. The rainbows were about 10 inches long. PowerBait, night crawlers and spinners are a safe bet to catch them. (08-17-17)
Carbon County Community Fishing Pond
Good
Rainbow trout are biting on worms and PowerBait. Salmon eggs have also been effective. (08-17-17)
Cleveland Reservoir
Good
In July, the reservoir was stocked with 2,500 rainbow trout. Try using spinners, PowerBait and worms to catch them. (08-17-17)
Electric Lake
Fair
Anglers have had some luck trolling for kokanee salmon using downriggers, dodgers and pop gear. The water has been murky and mossy, though. Some anglers have also caught cutthroat trout using bead head red leech lures. (08-17-17)
Ferron Reservoir
Good
Trout are biting on bead head buggers in black/orange and black/green, and leeches in red and olive. These flies have been especially effective for rainbow trout, but some cutthroat and brook trout are taking them too. Anglers have also had success using PowerBait. Spinners have been less effective lately; the fish will chase the spinners, but they seldom bite them. (08-17-17)
Gigliotti Pond
Good
Rainbow trout are biting on worms and PowerBait. Salmon eggs have also been effective. (08-17-17)
Gooseberry Reservoir
Good
Rainbow trout are biting on several styles of artificial lures, including bead head olive soft hackle flies and bead head red leeches. The reservoir was stocked on July 27 with 1,500 rainbow trout. (08-17-17)
Grassy Lake
Good
The lake was stocked with more than 1,300 rainbow trout in mid-July. Try using worms, PowerBait or spinners to catch them. (08-17-17)
Huntington Reservoir
Good
Tiger trout have been biting on crystal bugger fly patterns in tan, green and pearl. Anglers are also catching them using bead head olive soft hackle flies. Spinners are another good choice. Many fish have been caught near the bottom in water that’s between 20 to 35 feet deep. (08-17-17)
La Sal Mountains
Good
Dons, Hidden, Oowah and Warner lakes in Grand County were stocked with rainbow trout in late July. Oowah and Warner lakes received another stocking of rainbow trout on Aug. 8. Try using worms, PowerBait or spinners to catch trout at these lakes. (08-17-17)
Lower Fish Creek
Good
The creek was stocked with more than 17,000 brown trout on June 14. As the fish grow, try using woolly buggers, caddisflies and other nymph patterns to catch them. (08-17-17)
Petes Hole
Good
The lake was stocked with 1,200 rainbow trout on July 17. Try using worms, PowerBait or spinners to catch them. (08-17-17)
Potters Ponds
Good
The ponds were stocked with rainbow trout twice in July. The stocked fish were about 10 inches long. Try using a nightcrawler or PowerBait to catch them. (08-17-17)
Scofield Reservoir
Good
Fishing for Utah chub has been easy using worms and PowerBait. So far this summer, the reservoir has been stocked with more than 143,000 catchable cutthroat trout. To catch the cutthroats, try using spinners or trolling with rainbow- and frog-colored double leg flatfish. (08-17-17)
Soup Bowl
Good
The reservoir was stocked with 600 rainbow trout on July 17. Worms, PowerBait and spinners are a safe bet to catch them. (08-17-17)
Wrigley Springs Reservoir
Good
In July, the reservoir was stocked with 1,300 rainbow trout and almost 2,000 tiger trout. Anglers fishing from the dam with gold Jake’s Spin-A-Lures or Kastmasters have found success catching these fish. (08-17-17)
