Natalie Norton took this photo while in Nine Mile canyon. This butterfly was just popping with color on a dead tree making the tree pop with life again.

Natalie Norton is the winner of this week’s photo contest. A check for $25 will be in the mail in the next few days for the winning entry.
Each week, the staffs of the Sun Advocate and Emery County Progress will select a photo from those submitted and it will be printed on the front page in the next edition of the Smart Shopper.
The photo must be taken in the Castle Country area (which includes much of eastern and southeastern Utah) and be the product of a local resident.
If the photo is published on the front page of the Smart Shopper the person who took it will receive $25 and their photo will appear in the Shopper the next week.
Photos may be submitted either electronically (email them to editor@sunad.com and put in the title line CASTLE COUNTRY PHOTO) or they may be submitted in person at either the Sun Advocate office (845 East Main in Price) or at the Emery County Progress office (410 East Main, Suite 8, in Castle Dale). Include in the email with the photo the name, phone number and address of the person who took the photo. Please also include a brief description of what the photo consists of and when it was taken.
Photos that are submitted may be of events or landscapes. If there are people in the photo please include the names of the principal subjects.
Photos must be original work and should be submitted in their original form. Photos for the Shopper must be submitted for the next week’s contest by the Friday before at noon.
Photos can be taken with any kind of camera (including cell phone cameras) but must meet publishing parameters. Most photos taken, if they are kept in their original form, can be published.
