Melissa Anast

PRICE – Melissa Louise Anast, 38, danced her way into heaven on Tues., July 27, 2017.
Melissa was born on Aug. 18, 1978, to Jon R. Anast and Sharon Stoddard Katsavrias, in Price, Utah.
Melissa graduated from Carbon High School in 1996, where she was proud to be a cheerleader; she attended College of Eastern Utah and furthered her education through a Bachelor of Arts & Dance at the University of Las Vegas, and earned her Masters Degree in the Fine Arts of Dance from Mills College in Oakland, Calif. She was a dance instructor at Eastern Utah Community College and was later promoted to Assistant Professor and Chair of the Dance department. She loved teaching dance and choreographing theater shows for the college. Melissa won Repertory Dance Theaters Iron Choreographer in 2012 with her co-choreographer. Recently she choreographed shows for The Rio Theater in Helper, Utah. She was amazingly talented and creative; we are sure she is choreographing a masterpiece of a performance now.
Melissa was a proud member of the Greek Orthodox Church; you would often see her at festivals, teaching people how to Greek dance. Melissa loved and cherished her many friends that supported her in the Helper Arts community. She loved teaching Pilates and creating essential oil potions to help people heal. Her giggle was contagious, and smile unforgettable. She will miss her little dog Mocha and Mocha will miss her, as we all will.
Survived and will be forever remembered by parents Sharon and Gust Katsavrias, step-mother Nancy Futrell-Anast, brother Lance (Kelly) Anast, sister Laurie (Mike) Tryon, brother Tony (Amy) Anast, nephew Nicholas Anast, nieces, Krisalyn Anast, Ashley Tryon, Alex Tryon, MaKenzie Neath and many friends.
