CASTLE DALE, UTAH – Our Dad, Joe Jeffs, passed away on July 22, 2017 in the Beehive Home, Elmo, Utah at the age of 95. His body wore out but his memory was with him to the end. He was born October 26, 1921 to Raymond and Merle Marie Jeffs in Castle Dale, Utah. He spent his entire life living in Castle Dale.
He married Donna Mae Oman on October 26, 1944. She was the love of his life. He never dreamed she would go before him but she passed on December 25, 1994. They were literally bonded at the hip. Seldom did you see one without the other. They shared the same passions in life and made that the core of how they lived.
Mom & Dad had three daughters, Donna Marie, JoAnn and Joyce. They were blessed with seven grandchildren: Maria, Jeff, Emilie, Evonne, Kyle, Chance & Ryder, and 15 great grandchildren.
Dad worked many years for the Utah Fish & Game. He took a lot of pride in his work. He also loved the soil and was a happy, happy man when he was out in the field. They loved to fish. If they saw water and a fish might be in it they had their rods out and were fishing. They even loved to ice fish. They raised a beautiful garden and many people benefited from the harvest. To say Dad loved his truck was an understatement…it was his dining room afternoon nap place, a place to sit and meditate, and so much more. We doubt a car will ever exist that has more love put in it.
The last several years we have gone with Dad on a week’s vacation in St. George. He absolutely loved it. We would get up early and drive all day…going everywhere. We have missed it this summer but the memories are stamped on our hearts forever.
So many of Dad’s friends and family have gone before him. He talks of them all the time and would always just say “why am I getting so damn old”.
Dad, we will cherish you forever and all those qualities you taught us. Your work ethic is without question. Until we see you again, enjoy the journey you are now on. Love, Your Three Daughters.
