A Carbon County man was charged with an infraction for “improper lane travel” for riding his moped up the wrong side of Main Street in Price, where he collided with a semi truck.
C.J. McManus appears to be fine and refused ambulance services. His “motorized scooter” is totaled, Price Police Patrol Nick Parker said.
The collision occurred in front of the Subway at 382 E. Main. The semi made a right hand turn when McManus should have been on the other side of the road, as motorized scooter riders are required by law to travel by the same method as bicycle riders, Parker said. McManus only had scrapes on his right arm and a sprain to his left wrist and was cleared by ambulance staff.
“He lucked out,” Parker said.
