ORANGEVILLE – Bryant “Terry” Jewkes, age 92, passed away at his home in Orangeville on June 12, 2017 with his family at his side. He was born March 5, 1925 to Bryant R. & Mary Elizabeth Price Jewkes. He was raised in Emery County and served his country in the US Army Air Force during World War II. He married his sweetheart Vivian Grace Haycock on Jan 11, 1950 in the Manti Temple. Terry worked for 30 years in the coal mines. He also spent his life farming. For a few years he also ran a family feed business. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many positions. With his wife they served a mission in South Dakota. He loved his family and was very proud of them. He was a wonderful father and also was a true cowboy. He spent many years on his horse Smokey. Terry is enjoying a reunion with many loved ones, but will be deeply missed by those left behind.
Terry is survived by his sons Brian (Nancy) Jewkes, Scott (Lisa) Jewkes, daughters Vivian Kay Jewkes and Cindy (Jim) Cloward. He also leaves behind 28 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren, siblings Kathlean Beckstead, Robert Jewkes, and Jim (Pam) Jewkes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bryant & Mary Jewkes, a son and daughter-in-law Terry Roy & Terry Lynn Jewkes, a daughter Marilyn Jewkes, sisters Mary Lou Gordon and Leah Jewkes, a brother Don Jewkes and an infant brother William Jewkes and a daughter-in-law Carol Jewkes.
A visitation will be held at the Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale on Friday, June 16, 2017 from 6-8 pm. Funeral Services will be held at the Castle Dale Stake Center on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 11:00 am with a viewing at the church an hour prior to services. Interment will follow in the Orangeville City Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Fausett Mortuary.
