More than 44 grams of heroin, at least 58 grams of methamphetamine, and $3,200 in cash were seized after a search warrant was served at a Price residence early Monday morning.
Just a day after apprehending two bank robbery suspects, Price Police Officer Drew Olson developed information Sunday evening that significant drug dealing was occurring at the home, which is located at 245 South 200 East. It is the shared residence of 45 year old Matthew Allen Savage and 30 year old Malisa Marie Walberg.
According to a news release from the Price Police Department, Officer Olson was assisted by other Price City officers, Carbon County Deputies, and Carbon Metro Drug Task Force agents, when the search warrant was served just after midnight, early Monday morning.
Police said upon entry, Wallberg was in the bathroom attempting to flush drugs down the toilet, while Savage was located in the master bedroom. He initially was not compliant, but was “safely taken into custody.”
Both were booked into jail on felony charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and Heroin With Intent to Distribute, and misdemeanor charges of Possession of Marijuana and Paraphernalia. Walberg also faces a felony charge of Tampering With Evidence.
According to court records, Savage has several previous arrests, including a pending drug distribution case. Walberg also has several previous drug and theft-related arrests and is currently on a plea in abeyance agreement with Seventh District Court for a previous drug distribution charge.
