A police standoff resulting from a domestic violence incident in Northeast Price was peaceably resolved Wednesday afternoon.
Officers from the Price Police Department and the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call just after 2:00 p.m.
Captain Bill Barnes of the Price P.D. Identified the man as 33-year old Larry G. Jones. Jones had barricaded himself a home on Molyneaux Drive following the domestic dispute.
Police blockaded streets in the area and were positioned around the home. Students walking home from nearby Castle Heights Elementary School were kept out of the area while the standoff situation was active.
Barnes said the situation was resolved largely through the efforts of Deputy Zach Palacios, who had a good rapport with the suspect. Both are originally from East Carbon City.
Jones faces a felony charge of Possession of a Dangerous Weapon by a Restricted Person, along with misdemeanor charges of Assault, Domestic Violence, Disorderly Conduct and possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), and paraphernalia.
Barnes said a number of firearms were confiscated from the home.
