A memorial for Gene and Elaine (Butler) Heaston is scheduled for Saturday, May 20, 2017, 10:30am at the LDS chapel, 50 N. 100 E, Wellington, Utah.
Both Gene and Elaine were born and raised in Carbon County. They met while attending Carbon High School. They were married on November 27, 1941 when Gene was 19 and Elaine 18. When Gene passed on December 22, 2014, they had been married 73 years. Elaine passed away on April 7, 2017.
Gene’s profession in aerospace and construction took them from Utah to California, Colorado, Mississippi, Alabama, Canada and Saudi Arabia. Elaine was a homemaker and worked as an Executive Assistant in aerospace and other industries.
They retired to Provo, Utah then to Yuma, Arizona and finally to Mesa, Arizona. Gene was bishop of the then Provo 15th Ward in Provo and Elaine was a counselor in the Stake Relief Society.
They are survived by their children Dianne (Greg) Green, Ron (Nancy) Heaston, Roger Heaston, Bob Heaston. Joyce Heaston, an infant, preceded her parents in death. They are also survived by 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren.
