A six-run fourth inning proved to be too much for the Carbon High School softball team to overcome on Friday, as the team was defeated by Juab High School 8-2.
Carbon and Juab were scoreless through the first three innings of play, but Juab broke open the scoring in the fourth inning with six runs.
Juab increased its lead in the top of the sixth inning, tacking on two more runs.
The Dinos scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to decrease the deficit, with Mckylie Prettyman scoring on an RBI ground out by Kaytlyn Cripps and Kelsey Sorenson scoring on an RBI single by Mckenna Sorenson.
A scoreless seventh inning on both sides ended the game and the Dinos were defeated.
The Dinos will travel to play Richfield High School on Tuesday for a Region 12 match-up. Carbon’s next home game will be against Uintah on May 5, with first pitch scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
