Carl Fredrick William Roennebeck “Fred”, 81, of Arizona and Salt Lake City, UT, left this earth on February 25, 2017 to be with his loving Jesus. He was born December 23, 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Charles Fredrick and Vivian Louise Roennebeck.
Fred met the love of his life, Myrna Loy Christensen, when he was 19 years old. He married her in 1955 and together they had five beautiful children: Dennis, Christine, Jeanette, Steven, and Rosemarie. Fred and Myrna spent 61 years together working side by side through many adventures. Together, they were self-employed coin and antique dealers and also enjoyed restoring homes in East Carbon, Utah.
In 1990, Fred’s life was forever changed as he came to know the Lord and gained a personal relationship with his Savior, Jesus Christ. Soon after, he met Pastor Wayne Wilson and together they founded the Salt Lake City Mission, which focused on helping the homeless. Fred was compassionate, caring, and loving to those in need. He had a true passion and desire to serve people less fortunate while sharing God’s message and love with them.
Fred was a people person and had something to say about everyone and everything. His sarcasm and wit kept people laughing and created one liners that will keep us smiling and be remembered forever. Here are some of the classics: “There’s a right way, a wrong way, and Fred’s way!,” “Did you get it in your brain?!,” “TODAAAAY,” “Mrs. Roda—The Energizer Bunny,” “No one knows, but the shadow… Just listen,” “If you’re sick, don’t bother to come. Even if I’m dead, I still don’t want your germs.”
Fred passed away peacefully at home after a 30-year struggle with COPD, due to smoking earlier in his life. Regardless of the daily effects of his disease, Fred was strong willed and a fighter! He never gave up as he was essentially bound to an oxygen tank full time due to the feeling of suffocation. His greatest wish would be that those who smoke in his family would give this habit up in honor of him. 
Our hearts are at peace knowing that our treasured husband, father, grandpa, and friend is now free from his struggles, taking full breaths of heavenly air, and enjoying his time with his children.
Fred is survived by his wife Myrna Roennebeck, children Dennis & Elaine Roennebeck, Jeanette & Lester Mower, Rosemarie Stafford, 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, sister LaRita Roennebeck and his cat Turbo.
Proceeded in death by his two children Christine and Steven, son-in-law Bert, as well as his parents and two sisters Diane and Gloria.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 4th at 1:00pm at Mountain View Mortuary – 3115 Bengal Blvd (7800 S) Cottonwood Heights, UT 84121. There will be a viewing beforehand from 11:00am – 12:45pm. Burial services will be Tuesday, March 7th at 11:00am.
