Basso, Bingham announce new partnership venture

By Sun Advocate

Representatives from Blue Diamond Capital and Tony Basso GM announced last week a partnership between Marc Bingham and Tony Basso in the joint venture Basso Auto Dealers.
“Blue Diamond Capital only invests in companies that are top notch and all hundred plus companies that they run are first class, so we feel so honored to be chosen by Blue Diamond to be a 50/50 partner with us in this new creation called Basso Auto Dealers,” said Basso at the press conference on Friday.
Blue Diamond Capital is a leading force in business development with investments in approximately 100 businesses nationwide, from residential development, hospitality, multi-family, retail and fuel/c-store retail businesses. Blue Diamond also actively invests as a private equity investor across multiple industries. Blue Diamond Capital has grown and diversified their portfolio with great business acumen, and is now venturing into the automotive sector, adding their expertise to the long-established Tony Basso GM, whose proficiency lies in 28 years of service in Price. The partnership between these two great companies is the next step in building and expanding Tony Basso GM into Eastern Utah’s premier new and used car sales and service facility. It expands the ability to offer a wide range of vehicles at competitive prices to rural Utah, as well as continuing to contribute to economic stability in the area.
Marc Bingham, CEO of Blue Diamond Capital, started his first business in Price in 1971, Phone Directories Company. He is excited to bring his business full-circle to where he began and reinvest in the local community. Bingham had rented a building for his expanding company from Basso in the mid-90s, which was the introduction to a long lasting friendship that led to the recent business partnership.
“We’re glad to be back in Price,” said Bingham. “Everything I really got came from Price here and I came here in 1967 and always loved this area.”
Tony Basso started Mad Man Basso Automotive in 1989, and has been a cornerstone of the community ever since. By practicing his motto “Everybody gets a great deal!” his business grew steadily over the years and he eventually bought out Murdock Chevrolet. Tony Basso GM is now the largest dealer in Southeastern Utah, providing not only great deals to both locals and out of town consumers, but also providing jobs and quietly giving back to the community year after year.
“We have always been 100 percent locally owned and operated,” Basso stated in a press release. “Now we are 200 percent locally owned and operated, because Marc is 100 percent in and so am I.”
