A two-year-old firm with a 25-year history of selling vehicles in Price is the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce’s Business of the Year.
It’s AutoFarm Price, which changed its name from Price Auto Group in 2014 after its latest expansion and restructuring.
Gust Kalatzes, who opened the original dealership in 1992, said the new group now has seven locations spread over Utah, Wyoming and Indiana, and a second one in west Price near the Holiday Inn Express and Dairy Queen opening soon.
The business also has a new niche in handicap access with such items as wheelchair accessible vans and scooters.
“It gives is greater diversity and strength in numbers,” he told the Sun Advocate Monday.
Kalatzes and his longtime partner Daniel Mower finalized the restructuring in December 2014, but it had already taken about nine months to complete the details.
In addition to the economies of scale, the firm now has franchises with every domestic automotive manufacturer except Cadillac, Kalatzes said.
In addition to sales, the company has concentrated on parts, service and repairs.
