Caleb Jones

HUNTINGTON, UT-HENDERSON, CO- Caleb Blake Jones, age 26, passed away January 29, 2017 as the result of an automobile accident in Brighton, Colorado.
Caleb was born August 23, 1990, the fifth child of Randall Ernest and Barbra Ogden Jones. Caleb attended schools in Huntington and graduated (much to his parent’s relief) from Emery High School in 2009 where he was a member of the FFA and wrestling teams, placing 4th in the state 3A tournament in 2008. Caleb loved to wrestle and was the Utah State Freestyle Champion and won the US Folk Style Championship. He went on to CEU in Price where he honed his machinist and welding skills. Welding became his passion and his profession.
Caleb was a member of the LDS Church and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He was also a member of Emery County 4-H and loved showing pigs at the livestock show. He attended the National Forestry Contest at the University of West Virginia. Through the years, Caleb has loved raising hell with his myriad of friends, whether it was riding bikes, horses, 4-wheelers or Jeeps. He loved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles right down to his shower curtain and underwear. Caleb was a big overgrown kid and loved every second of it. We will miss his contagious big smile and his continuous line of B.S!
Caleb married Mechele Ellis on November 18, 2011 in Santaquin, Utah. She preceded him in death on December 11, 2015. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Clynn K. Jones and Randall Cade Jones; grandparents, Ray and Bernice Ogden, Wilda Jones and cousin, Elam Jones.
Survived by his parents, Randall and Barbara Jones, Huntington; sisters, Cassie (Daniel) Thatcher and Cierra Jones, both of Elmo; sister-in-law, Marilyn Jones, Preston, ID; parents-in-law, Ron and Trina Ellis, and brother and sister-in-law Nate and Megan Walker all of Santaquin, Utah.
Caleb loved his surviving nieces and nephews; Austyn, Jakob, Jessyka, and Jayson Harris; Dani Deri, Dazi and Devlin Thatcher; MaKaylee and Daygen Walker.
Funeral service will be held Monday, February 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Huntington LDS Stake Center. Family will receive friends at the church Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the Huntington City Cemetery.
