The Carbon High School girls’ basketball team notched another win on Thursday, improving its record to 14-3 overall and 4-1 in Region 12 play, with a 50-35 victory over the Hawks of North Sanpete High School.
As has become the norm, the lady Dinos worked up an early, commanding lead over the Hawks, scoring 16 points in the first quarter and 15 in the second, compared to North Sanpete’s seven and four.
Holding on to the lead, but easing up a bit in the second half, the Dinos were actually outscored in the final two quarters, scoring nine points in the third quarter and 10 in the fourth, compared to the Hawks’ 11 and 13.
Lindsey Blanc once again led the Dinos offensively with 15 points. Cyene Bigelow and Chandelle Nichols each scored 11 points in the game. Bigelow also tallied eight rebounds, six offensive, in the win over North Sanpete.
The Dinos will play host to Richfield High School on Tuesday with game time slated for 7 p.m. Carbon will also play at home on Friday against Canyon View High School at 7 p.m.
