Pinnacle Boys’ Basketball falls to Tabiona

The Pinnacle High School boys’ basketball team lost its game against Tabiona High School on Saturday 56-47.
The Panthers got out to a quick start against Tabiona, leading 15-10 after the first quarter, with Valentin Acosta scoring eight of the Panthers’ points, including two three-pointers early in the quarter. Tabiona worked back to tie the game in the second quarter at 17, then again at 19, but the Panthers were able to go into halftime with a slight lead in the 21-19 game.
Tabiona again worked the game into a tie in the third period, but the Panthers went into the fourth quarter leading by two points again, 33-31.
Tabiona quickly took a lead in the fourth period, and while momentum was on the Panthers’ side throughout most of the game, it shifted in the final minutes and Tabiona was able to pull off the 56-47 win.
Acosta finished the game with 15 points, including three three-pointers. Kaden Daughters tallied 17 points in the game.
The Panthers will host Altamont High School on Wednesday at 7 p.m., and will play at home again on Friday against Whitehorse High School at 7 p.m.
