HELPER-Doyle Ray Warren, 78, passed away May 17, 2016 at home after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born September 18, 1937 in Huntington, Utah to Melvin L. and Winifred Knight Warren. Doyle grew up in Cleveland, Utah on the family farm and later lived in Soldier Summit and several mining camps in Carbon and Emery Counties.
Married Caroline Jacobson in Castle Gate, Utah. They later divorced and he joined the US Army in September of 1954. While stationed at Dugway Proving Grounds, he met Lana Huntsman and married in Elko, Nevada; later divorced. He served in the US Army in Greenland, Newfoundland, Korea, Vietnam, France and Germany as well as in the U.S. until his retirement in June of 1975. While in Vietnam a chaplain set Doyle on a path that eventually led him to receiving Jesus Christ as his Savior. For his service in Vietnam, Doyle received the Bronze Star, two Army Commendation Medals and four Purple Hearts. After his retirement from the military he worked with the Vinnell Corp on the Saudi Arabi National Guard Modernization Program. While in Saudi Arabia, he met Kathleen Diem and they were married in Beirut, Lebanon in 1978. He also worked as a civilian supporting the US Army during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. After returning to the U.S., Doyle and Kathy settled in Helper, Utah and studied at the College of Eastern Utah where he received his Associates Degree. He also studied at S.U.U. in Cedar City and Westminster College in Salt Lake.
Doyle also worked in the transportation field doing long and short trucking on a tour bus for Smith Transit and for the Carbon County School District driving bus. After finally retiring, Doyle and Kathy traveled throughout the US and overseas on many occasions. He served on four Christian Missionary Trips, including teaching in China, distributing scriptures in Ghent, Belgium and Marseille, France, and assisting at medical clinics in Egypt.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Kathleen Warren, Helper; six children, Carol Susanna Marriott, West Jordan, Janice Evans Miller, Price, Allen Warren, Sandy, Belinda (Brian) Halloran, McAlpine, FL, Nadine Garlic, Colorado, Brian Warren of Sandy; twelve grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Dean (Valeen) Sullivan, Layton, Ruth (Larry) Aders, Roy, Marie Skinner, Kenilworth, Paul Timothy (Dixie) Warren, Richfield, Lynda Benson, Indianola,MS, Lynne Green, Arvada, CO; sisters-in-law, Ina Warren, Helper, Phyllis Warren, Evans, WA; brother-in-law, Dennis Kelly, Stanwood, WA.
Preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Elvin, Melvin and Marvin; and sisters, Betty Wortley and Mary Jo Kelly.

Funeral service, Saturday, May 21, 2016, 1:00 p.m., Price Chapel-CMA (611 West Price River Drive) where the family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Cliffview Cemetery with military honors by the Price American Legion Post # 3.
