Agnes Lauriski

EAST CARBON-Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and longtime friend, Agnes Ann Benigar Lauriski, age 96, passed away May 10, 2016 at the Heirloom Inn in Price.
She was born on July 5, 1919 in Export, Pennsylvania to Matt Benigar and Mary Kern. Married Anton “Tony” Lauriski, May 21, 1942 in Canon City, Colorado and they made their home in East Carbon in 1946. He preceded her in death on May 21, 2015.
Agnes was a longtime resident of East Carbon and a faithful member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. She was very outgoing and loved volunteering at her church. Agnes enjoyed sewing, camping, gardening, and cooking for her family. She will be dearly missed by her family and many longtime friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Murphy, Kansas City, MO; son, Tony (Sharon) Lauriski, Cody, WY; five grandchildren, Patrick (Bridget) Murphy, Barbara (Ryan) Mikel, Shannon (Jeromy) Lauriski-Johnson, Terra (Dan) Adams, Tonya (Mat) Lauriski-Karriker; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Agnes is preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband of 73 years, Anton “Tony” Lauriski; five brothers, two sisters, and her son-in-law, Pete Murphy.
A Celebration of Agnes’s life will be held Thursday, May 12, 2016, at Mitchell Funeral Home from 2:00-3:00 p.m. where friends are welcome to visit with the family. She will be laid to rest in the Lakeside Cemetery in Canon City, Colorado at a later date.
