Fueled by a four-run sixth inning, the Carbon High School softball team defeated its cross-county rival Emery High School on Tuesday 7-1.
Emery scored its only run of the game in the top of the fourth inning, but Carbon struck back quickly in the bottom of the inning with three runs of its own. After a scoreless fifth, the Dinos scored four in the sixth inning to secure the lead and the victory.
McKenna Sorenson pitched the complete seven innings for the Dinos with eight strikeouts and just four hits. Taylor Passarella went 1-4 in the game with three RBI.
The Dinos, 15-6-1 overall and 4-2 in Region 12, will play their next game on the road at Juab High School on Friday.
