Up to 300 new jobs for Castle Country

By John Serfustini

Four companies which could provide up to 300 full and part-time office-type jobs have either begun hiring in Carbon County or are close to beginning. At a meeting with interested members of the community Wednesday afternoon at the Carbon County Event Center, representatives of Accelerant Business Solutions Provider, Direct Business Lending and Key Research presented their plans. A fourth company, Day Pacer, could not attend but county Economic Development Director Tami Ursenbach said the company is hiring people to work at home in a call answering service.
The other three are opening phone or electronic contact center work. Direct Business Lending concentrates on finding available capital for small or startup businesses. Key Research looks to hire college and older high school students for evening and weekend work. Accelerant is working on a system of virtual office environments and distance education to match urban employers with rural employees who would telecommute to work or study for technical careers.
