Area wrestlers take part in travel tournaments

The East Carbon Diggers wrestling club and the Carbon Raptors wrestling club were able to dig up some medals for each of their clubs. Friday night’s action took place at Emery High in Castle Dale and Saturday’s took place at the Grand County High School in Moab.
For the Diggers Aedan Bridge placed 2nd at Emery and 1st at Moab. Tru Brown placed 2nd at Emery and 2nd at Moab. William Bridge placed 1st at both Emery and Moab. Kysin Valdez placed 4th at Emery and 2nd at Moab. T.J. McFarland placed 1st in Moab. Christine McCarty place 3rd both at Emery and Moab. Nathan Manchester placed 4th both at Emery and Moab. Jared Simmons placed 3rd at Emery and 1st at Moab. Logan McCarty placed 4th both Emery and Moab. Halton Hunt placed 4th at Emery and 2nd at Moab. Hayden Hunt placed 3rd both at Emery and Moab. Ray Burdick placed 3rd at Moab. Cole Burdick placed 2nd at Emery and 1st at Moab. Teegan Robinson placed 2nd at Emery and 4th at Moab. Johnnie placed 4th in Moab. Michael Fivecoat placed 2nd in Moab. Ashtun and Gavin Guymon both placed 3rd at Emery. Deklan Guymon placed 1st at Emery. Michael Thompson placed 3rd at Emery.
At Emery the Raptors took home six 1st place, six 2nd place, six 3rd place and three 4th place finishes. At Moab the Raptors took home seven 1st place, seven 2nd place, twelve 3rd place and eight 4th place finishes.
Saturday, February 27 is the Castle Country Crackdown tournament held at Carbon High.
The age groups for the East Carbon Diggers include ages 4-14. Many of the Diggers that wrestled in the tournaments are first year wrestlers.
