PRICE- James Marion “Jim” Kelly passed away at his home in Price on December 14, 2015.
He was born in Pineville, Louisiana on November 12, 1932.
Jim was a master saddle maker, horseman, teacher and also had a thirst for knowledge. On his own accord Jim at the age of 63 spent countless evening hours learning to read.
Jim was a world renowned master saddle maker who was recognized for his artistic craftsmanship in books, magazines and many other publications. He spent his life working with his hands and doing what he loved.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and to be one with nature. On top of a horse or on top of a mountain, that’s where Jim felt closest to his Lord and Savior. Jim’s achievements in life were numerous including his service in the US Army during the Korean war, but he will be remembered as a man of God who loved and is loved.
Survived by his wife and life partner of 40 years, Charleen. Together they had four children; Shannon, Brett, Brian and Heather who blessed Jim with countless grandchildren and great grandchildren.
