The USU Eastern women’s basketball team tallied a win in a blow-out game against the Salt Lake All-Stars on Friday.
USUE won the match 118-44. The All-Stars kept the game close only through the first period, at which points the Golden Eagles led 27-21. After that, the All-Stars seemed to be worn out and the Golden Eagles continued to cruise along, scoring 30 poitns in the second period and 25 in the third period.The Golden Eagles also held the All-Stars to only two points in the fourth period, scoring 26 of their own.
For the Golden Eagles, Barbara Cousino Cont tallied 29 points on nine three-pointers and two free throw shots. Ashlyn Coleman tallied 14 points with six field goals and two three-pointers.
The Golden Eagles now hold a record of 5-3 overall as they inch closer to the start of division play.
The Golden Eagles’ first SWAC, Scenic West Athletic Conference, game will be at Snow College on Dec. 10. They will play their next home game against the Utah Stars on Dec. 4 at 5:30 p.m., while their first home SWAC game will be on Dec. 17 against North Idaho College at 5:30 p.m.
