Paul Clark

By Sun Advocate

EAST CARON CITY-Our loving husband, father, grandfather and former Mayor of East Carbon, Leo Paul Clark, age 89, passed away November 11, 2015 in Price.
He was born June 14, 1926 in Fairview, Utah to Leo and Minnie O’Leary Clark. Married Mary A. Spigarelli, October 7, 1950 in Martin, Utah.
Paul was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a graduate of Carbon High and the University of Utah where he received his Bachelors in Mining Engineering. Honorably served in the US Army in Burma during World War II. Paul was very patriotic and it’s only fitting that he was born on Flag Day and returned to Heavenly Father on Veterans Day.
Paul was a longtime resident of East Carbon and a retired employee of US Steel. He spent the majority of his years at Horse Canyon and seven years working for US Steel in Lynch, Kentucky. After returning to Utah, Paul settled back in East Carbon where he was blessed with many dear friends. Paul served as the Mayor of East Carbon from 1990-2000 and was instrumental in many community projects. He had many pastimes, however his favorite’s were building his cabin in Joe’s Valley, fishing at Mary’s Lake, working on his Model A and caring for his wonderful wife.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary Clark; sons, Dennis (Mary Ellen) Clark, Gary (Kelly) Clark, all of East Carbon; grandchildren, Shane (Misty) Clark, Greg (Amber) Clark, Nick (Denise) Clark and Kaylee (Kyle) Leonard; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents, and sisters, Oma Strong and Jeannine Campbell.
