Harold (Coach) Cunningham

SPRING GLEN-Harold (Coach) Cunningham passed away peacefully in his home on November 14, 2015 at the age of 84.
He was born on November 29, 1930 at the family home in Spring Glen to Charles Edwin Cunningham and Frances Emily Davis. He was the 5th of eight children.
Harold married Frances Blackham on June 29, 1950. He then began attending BYU in 1951 and graduated in 1953. Harold taught school at Helper Jr. High and Carbon High School for 35 years. He coached football and wrestling at Carbon College. He also coached football, wrestling, track, and basketball at Carbon High School and Helper Jr. High.
Harold and Frances raised 11 children in Spring Glen, Utah where he was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served numerous positions in the LDS church; he particularly enjoyed the 10 years he served at the Manti Temple. Harold and Frances also served in the Bangalore mission as humanitarian missionaries in Madras, India and in Singapore.
Preceded in death by three brothers, one sister, his parents, grandson, Chris; and three daughters, Jacquelyn Ann (Wayne), Karen, and Mary Frances.
He is survived by his loving wife Frances, children, Harold Jr. (Joyce), Darrell (Ilene), David (Lanore), Dale (Vicki), Richard (Tracy), John (Laurie), James (Jodie), and Marilyn (Michael); 36 grandchildren, and 64 great grandchildren, one brother Bill, and sisters June and Dixie.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Symbii Hospice for their care of Harold.
Funeral service Wednesday, November 18, 2015, 1:00 p.m., at the Helper Stake Center (150 Ridgeway Street) in Helper with the viewing beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
