PRICE- Estella E. Perea Montoya, age 85, passed away on October 31, 2015 in Price, Utah.
She was born December 30, 1929 in Eden, Colorado to Belarmino and Helen Martinez Perea.
Married Antonio C. Montoya November 11, 1946 in Price, Utah. He died May 26, 1987.
Stella and Tony moved to Dragerton, Utah where they began their lives as one. They had three children, Glenda, Rose and Michael Montoya. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandma and friend to many. Stella was a graduate of Carbon High School and CEU with her Associate Degree. She worked at the old Price Hospital and as a pink lady at Castleview Hospital. She loved being around family and friends. She enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. Her hobbies were ceramics, crocheting and listening to music. Stella’s favorite holiday was Thanksgiving were everyone gathered together. Her greatest joy was being with her grandkids, great grandkids and great great grandkids that she loved dearly.
Survived by her daughter, Glenda Ranney and Ben Mendoza, Price; son, Michael Lynn Montoya, Colorado; 3 brothers, Albert (Pat) Perea, Alfonzo Perea, Armando Perea, all of Ogden, Utah; 8 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, Tony C. Montoya; daughter, Rose Montoya Doporto; parents; sister, Cedelia Perea Martinez; son in law, Melchor Doporto; grandson, Tony Ray.
Funeral Mass, Thursday, November 5, 2015, 10:00 a.m., Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church.
Vigil service, Wednesday evening 7:00 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price. Family will receive friends at Mitchell’s Wednesday and Thursday one hour prior to services. Committal, Price City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Stella online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
