The Carbon High School girls’ volleyball team is back to its winning ways, bringing home a Region victory after a back-and-forth battle against Richfield High School.
The Dinos got out to an early 1-0 lead after defeating the Wildcats 25-18 in the first set. However, Richfield scored the next win with a score of 25-17, evening the match at one win a piece. Carbon notched a 25-14 win in the third set, but Richfield came back with a 25-21 win to send the match into the fifth and final set.
Carbon was able to come away with the 15-9 win, giving the girls the match victory.
The Dinos are now 14-6 overall and 4-1 in Region. Carbon is in a solid second place in the Region 12 standings behind North Sanpete High School, who is undefeated in Region play. Carbon’s only Region loss was served by North Sanpete.
Carbon will play its next match at home against Canyon View High School on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
