The Carbon High School Varsity football team suffered a loss on Friday night, falling to Juan Diego Catholic on the road 49-0.
As has been the case in many of the Dinos’ losses, the opponent scored most of its touchdowns in the first half. Juan Diego scored 21 points in the first quarter and 14 in the second quarter. With seven in both the third and fourth quarters, Juan Diego cruised to the win.
For the Dinos on offense, senior quarterback Taylor Rasmussen completed seven of 18 passes for 23 yards and totaled 12 rushing yards on five carries. Sophomore Nate Olson rushed the ball for 55 yards on six carries. Senior Bradlee Chatterton totaled 16 receiving yards on three catches. On the defensive side, senior Dallyn Mower tallied 13 tackles, six solo and seven assisted.
Carbon falls to 1-7 overall and 0-4 in Region after the loss. The Dinos’ next game will be a home match on Wednesday against Richfield, also 1-7, at 7 p.m.
