PRICE/DRAPER – Bob L Adams, 76, passed away on April 1, 2015 at his home in Draper. He was born Dec. 16, 1938 in Roland, Ark. to John D. and Margarette (Findley) Adams.
Bob grew up in Dragerton and Price. He joined the Navy in 1953 and spent 11 years in active duty aboard an aircraft carrier and many “tin cans”. While in the Navy, he was able to put his baseball talent to good use by playing in the position of catcher for the Navy team. Bob did three tours in Viet Nam and was proud of his military service. He worked until retirement for several trucking companies as a driver where he had an exceptional safety record.
Bob married Barbara Johnson in 1969 in Price.. They were happily married for 46 years. Bob was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 222. He was baptized Catholic on Oct. 8, 2011, and loved his Catholic faith.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, computers, teasing his grandkids and spoiling them with a large bag of M&Ms or a 10-dollar bill, which was always at the ready. You could find him watching western and military movies with a big bowl of buttered popcorn, a Pepsi, and a begging dog at his feet. Bob always had a cup of coffee in his hand and another pot brewing; he was very particular about his coffee… just black and “none of that frou-frou stuff.”
Bob is survived by his spouse Barbara of Draper; his daughter Michelle (Jim) Adams Walker of Chanhassen, Minn., his son John D. Adams II of Price; his grandchildren Jastin Adams, Meaghan Walker, Andrew Walker and Jashelle Adams; sisters Janet (Charles) Hightower, Gena (Bob) Collins; father-in-law Papa Joe Johnson; sister-in-law Yvonne (Frank) Olson, brothers-in-law Joey Johnson and Duke Johnson and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his constant companion, Tiko, the shih-Tzu
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and sister Brenda Adams Ulrich; mother-in-law Martha Johnson; sister-in-law Connie Johnson.
