MOAB-Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend, Irene Prichard Christensen Lemon, age 92, passed away March 11, 2015 in Ogden.
She was born Jan. 23, 1923 in Price to Guy and Lillie Lind Prichard.
Married Myrlen Christensen, March 1941; he passed away Aug. 27, 1963. On Sept. 17, 1966, Irene married Neldon L. Lemon; he preceded her in death on Oct. 17, 2013.
Irene was a longtime resident of Moab who loved to bowl. She carried a high average in league play and cherished the friendships she made while bowling. Irene was an excellent seamstress and knitter who won many blue ribbons at the State Fair for her handiwork. Many of her beautiful heirlooms were gifted to her family and close friends.
Irene was one of the best cooks ever. She loved to tend her beautiful rose garden which she took great pride and care of. She enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, and watching her boys play little league baseball. Family meant the world to her and she taught her children the importance of honesty, truthfulness, and fairness. Irene was a very strong woman for her stature and she endured many hardships during her lifetime. She will be dearly missed by her family and a community of friends.
Survived by her children, Diane (David) Gladman, Gail (Peggy) Christensen, Lorraine (Richard) Rowley, Rodney (Becky) Christensen; Ralph (Judy) Lemon; daughters-in-law, Diana Christensen, Margo Jones; sisters-in-law, Ruth Prichard, Agnes Prichard; step-children, Robert (Lori) Lemon, LaReta McFarland, Karen (Danny) James; 11 grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 17 step great grandchildren and one on the way and eight great great grandchildren and six on the way.
Preceded in death by parents; first husband Myrlen Christensen; second husband, Neldon Lemon; son, Myrley Christensen; granddaughter, Myrla Ann; step-son, Doug Lemon; brothers, LeGrande, Loraine, Leon and Bert Prichard; sisters, Fern Prichard, Mildred Larcher and Georgia Anderson.
Memorial service, Tuesday, March 17, 2015, Noon, Mitchell Funeral Home, (233 East Main) in Price. Family will be at Mitchell’s one hour prior to service. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
