A four-vehicle accident caused three Carbon High students to be transported to Castleview Hospital for treatment Monday a when rear end collision caused a chain reaction of impact.
According to Price City Police Chief Kevin Drolc, the incident began when vehicle one exited the Carbon High parking lot and yielded to a pair of pedestrians crossing 400 North in Price.
In turn, a second and third vehicle exited the lot and yielded to car number one. The involved vehicles have been labeled by number, as the chief did not identify the involved car’s makes or models as the operators were all under the age of 18. For the same reason none of the involved were identified publicly.
The incident began when a fourth vehicle came out of the parking lot traveling west and for an unknown reason failed to yield when the driver in front of them stopped. Vehicle four made impact with vehicle three, three hit two, two hit one. Thankfully, no one struck the pedestrians.
Drolc reported that the female juvenile operating car number four was cited for following too closely with an accident.
All three individuals who were transported for treatment were reportedly released just after reaching Castleview.
As a precaution, the Price City Police Chief asked that all students take proper precautions along Price’s busy 400 North, which fronts both USU Eastern and Carbon High School. He also asked that all local drivers pay special attention during the times of day at which the students are going to or heading away from school.
